Weather news
1 Quite sunny with a few fair weather Cu + some Cirrus as well. Top Tmax: Kleine Brogel 31,4°C, Zaventem had 29,2°C. Other stations >30°C were Diest 30,8°C, Ghent 30,6°C and Chièvres 30,5°C. 
2 Sunny with for a couple of hours a few fair weather Cu, and some Cirrus as well. Top Tmax: Kleine Brogel 31,3°C, Zaventem had 28,9°C. Other stations >30°C were Ghent 31,3°C, Ostend 30,4°C and Chièvres 30,0°C.

4 Sunny start with Cirrus, soon fair weather Cu as well, late afternoon very cloudy with Cs & As from a Cb over the far W came in. Top Tmax: Kleine Brogel 34,3°C, Zaventem had 31,3°C. Other stations >30°C were Ghent & Charleroi 33,5°C, Chièvres 33,0°C, Ukkel 32,2°C, Liège 32,0°C, Semmerzake & Deurne 31,9°C, Beauvechain 31,5°C, Florennes 30,4°C. Today, late afternoon and towards midnight thunderstorm activity over West-Vlaanderen and western edge of Oost-Vlaanderen, some of them (between Kortijk-Beernem) briefly severe in rain & lightning rate.
5 Around 0400 a heavy rain shower giving 3 mm in 10 minutes and also a few rumbles of thunder. Around 1000 more rumbles of thunder over the East, but remaining dry and clearing skies afterwards. Top Tmax: Kleine Brogel 30,9°C, Zaventem had 28,9°C. In the early morning thunderstorm activity over West-Vlaanderen, some severe in lightning activity. In forenoon some light thunderstorms over central and northeastern parts of Belgium as well.
6-20 Summary: on the 6th a couple of thunderstorms (also at Kampenhout) most modest in intensity, but flooding did occur in places like Tienen, Bekkevoort, Wezemaal, Niel and Hemiksem. Period of 7 till 10 light disturbed maritime air with a couple of weak frontal systems. Afterwards a long period of the fair summer weather including a heat wave with on the 19th an absolute thermal top. A grip of some >35°C stations: Kleine Brogel 37,8°C, Ghent 37,6°C, Charleroi 37,0°C, Semmerzake 36,9°C, Diest 36,8°C, Liège 36,7°C, Ukkel 36,2°C, Ostend and Koksijde 36,0°C, Zaventem 35,8°C, Beauvechain 35,7°C, Deurne & Chièvres 35,4°C. At Kampenhout the temperature also topped at 36°C and we must go back as far as August 4 1990 to find such high value, as on August 6 and 12 2003, "only" the 35°C mark was reached. In the evening a thundery zone passed western parts of Belgium including provinces of West & Oost-Vlaanderen, W parts of Hainaut, Antwerp and NW parts of Brabant. Here a pictorial report. On the 20th restoration of summer weather, but during the evening a thundery line entered Hainaut dissipating just south of Brussels, lightning activity was rather severe.   
21 Quite sunny with besides some Cirrus tempo a few fair weather Cu. Around 2300 tempo some weak NLC, between 10-15° in N. Top Tmax: Kleine Brogel 34,7°C, Zaventem had 31,3°C.  
22 After sunrise invading Cs, Ac and As. From 1000 on showery rain with a few thunders around 1100. Rain eased off after 1230 (4 mm) and was followed by clearing skies. Again invading Cirrus after 1700, a couple of hours later an enormous Cb anvil approached from W. Skies turned black and a tremendous shelf cloud + whale's mouth passed the area from 2100 on with gusty wind up to 26KT. Lightning intensity was briefly severe (a lot of CC strokes) and the rain fell in moderate form. This shower lasted till 2230 giving 18 mm and clouds once more started to break. Top Tmax: Semmerzake 31,0°C, Zaventem had 28,6°C. Today in morning weak to moderate thunderstorm activity over central and eastern parts of Belgium. In the evening a severe thunderstorms passed provinces of Hainaut, E-parts of West-Vlaanderen, Oost-Vlaanderen and Brabant. Lightning intensity was very high and local flooding did occur in places like Zwevegem, Tournai, Ninove, Roosdaal and Dilbeek. Highest officially recorded rainfall in the thunderstorm was 20 mm at Charlerloi, but presumable an amount of around 60 mm must have came down at the flooded locations. 23 Sunny start, in forenoon tempo broken Sc, becoming scattered cumuliform cloudiness in afternoon. Top Tmax: Kleine Brogel 30,8°C, Zaventem had 26,9°C. During the early night night still some weak to moderate thunderstorm activity over Oost-Vlaanderen, Namur, Liége and Luxembourg.   
24 Quite sunny with tempo some Cumulus congestus. Top Tmax: Kleine Brogel 32,1°C, Zaventem had 28,5°C. 
25 Quite sunny with tempo some fair weather Cu. Top Tmax: Kleine Brogel 34,1°C, Zaventem had 31,8°C. All stations once again over the thirties, except the coastal stations and Elsenborn.
26 Quite sunny with some Cirrus, in late afternoon also a few Cu and Ac. Towards sunset more Cirrus from SW. Top Tmax: Kleine Brogel 36,3°C, the only station exceeding the 35°C mark. Zaventem had 33,0°C. Except the coastal stations, all had temperatures between 32-35°C, including Elsenborn with 33,5°C!. Late afternoon a severe thunderstorm over the extreme east of province Liège. Towards midnight a weak thunderstorm approached the S borders of province West-Vlaanderen and SW borders of province Hainaut.  
27 After midnight becoming very cloudy with Ac & As. Around 0200, some lightning in the far SW and for a brief moment picking up winds of 25KT but remaining dry. Cloudy day with Ci, Cs As and Ac. A few drops around 2000. Top Tmax: Deurne 30,6°C, Zaventem had 28,9°C. Besides Deurne four other stations topped just above 30°C: Kleine Brogel, Ghent, Charleroi and Semmerzake. Just after midnight and a couple hours afterwards some weak thunderstorms over province of West-Vlaanderen and Hainaut. In the afternoon again a couple of weak thunderstorms over West-Vlaanderen and Liège. 
28 Starting partly cloudy with Ac, after 1300 also formation of Cu con and small Cb. First rumbles were heard around 1400 with some raindrops as well. More rumbles from further building TCu & Cb from 1600 on with a heavy rain shower around 1800 giving 7 mm. Afterwards the thunderstorm moved again from where it came and gave flooding over Kortenberg-Zaventem. This cell gave a nice roll cloud and whale's mouth, see for full report here. Top Tmax: Kleine Brogel 31,9°C, Zaventem had 27,8°C. After midnight a weak thunderstorm over extreme east of province Oost-Vlaanderen and SW-Brabant.  From late afternoon on some severe thunderstorms developed over provinces of Namur, Hainaut, Brabant, Antwerp, Limbourg, Liège and Luxembourg. Lightning activity was briefly severe: a house went into flames at Veltem-Beisem.  Hail of around 1 cm was observed near Zaventem. Flooding did occur in places like: Baarle-Hertog, Turnhout, Lier (Berlaar), Zonhoven, Zaventem, St.- Lambrechts-Woluwe, Sterrebeek and Malmédy. Highest officially recorded amount of rain was Kleine Brogel with 37 mm. Over the flooded location,  >50mm must have came down, as for example 71 mm was reportedly collected over Zaventem village.
29 Misty start, but soon quite sunny with tempo some scattered Cu. During the afternoon great improvement in the visibility, towards sunset thick Cirrus fields came in from WSW. Top Tmax: Diest 29,7°C, Zaventem had 27,6°C.
30 Cloudy to very cloudy, initially with Ac. From noon on also Sc Cu with showery rain between 1530-1730. Around 1600 also one rumble of thunder. Breaking clouds from 1800 on. Top Tmax: Kleine Brogel 28,9°0C, Zaventem had 26,0°C. Today between 1500-1900, weak thunderstorm activity on the cold front, except for province of West-Vlaanderen.   
31 Starting very cloudy with As, from noon on partly cloudy with Cu Sc, clearing towards sunset. Top Tmax: Kleine Semmerzake 26,1°C, Zaventem had 24,4°C. Today, around noon, a weak thunderstorm over SE of Hainaut.
