Reims/Cessna F.172G (F172-0281)

Description: this factory fresh Cessna (build by Reims) was registered on April 1 1966 to Sotramat based at Brussels Airport who was the Benelux importer of Cessna airframes at that time. A couple months later, on July 26, it migrated to the Vlaamse Luchtvaartbond based at Antwerp airport. This club was established on March 3 1966 as flying school, air baptisements, bannertowing and aerial photography. On September 24 1966 their operations did start when this airframe was unveiled to the public (together with two other Cessna's OO-VLA & OO-VTB and a Mooney 20 "OO-VLB") in a ceremony held at Antwerp airport. Here seen a couple of years later carrying a tiny tail logo and below the registration small "Vlaamse Luchtvaartbond" titles, baptised "Blauwvoet".

Description: on June 18 1974 it migrated to Sotramat Aviation, here seen such a day later carrying a red livery based on the style of the previous operator, but without titles.

Description: here seen in an updated non standard livery after the merge into Hessenatie-Sotramat Aviation.

Description: after been with a private owner (R. De Wolf) since January 16 1985, it migrated on February 25 1986 to Hawa-Air, here seen such with "Hawa Air" tail titles.

Description: here seen in their full livery without titles but with its tail logo which was adopted by March 1987. After its demise in 1988 it moved on September 8 of the same year to another private owner (F. Declerck) but was damaged beyond repair at Antwerp airport during a winterstorm on January 13 1993 without casualties and was cancelled on September 24 2001. Later the 'wreckage' was sold to a private owner (F. Van de Perre) who wanted to rebuild it as flight simulator but this project was only partly finished and remained laid up at Antwerp airport.
