late 60's Location: ANR/EBAW Photo: collection Skystef Description: this factory fresh Cessna (build by Reims) was on March 23 1966 registered to the Vlaamse Luchtvaartbond based at Antwerp airport. This club was established on March 3 1966 as flying school, for air baptisements, bannertowing and aerial photography. On September 24 1966 their operations did start when this airframe was unveiled to the public (together with two other Cessna's OO-JVO & OO-VLA and a Mooney 20 "OO-VLB") in a ceremony held at Antwerp airport. Here seen in a livery carrying a tiny tail logo and on the fuselage small "Vlaamse Luchtvaartbond" titles (see also upper left inset), baptised "Stormvogel". On October 10 1975 it crashed at Oostmalle (Belgium) without further details, was later sold for spares to a private user (V. Melotte) and was on September 9 1981 cancelled from the register. |
