Description: this vintage 1953 build Piper (ex USAAF and ex Belgian Air Force "OL-L18") came in the Belgian register on May 27 1971 for B.S.D. Aeroclub F.B.A., established on October 15 1964 and based at Butzweilerhof Air Base (Germany), here seen such in a livery with the club's logo in the tail. In the summer of 1985 its base moved to Werl Air Base (Germany) and when in 1994 they closed their doors it went to Aachen-Merzbrück airfield (Germany). As the Belgian Army closed down their activities in Germany in 1996, the club moved to Liège airport and consequently the airframe was on August 30 1996 sold to Aero Club Keiheuvel. On March 3 2003 it went to a private user (H. Mariën) basing its aircraft also at Balen-Keiheuvel airport. But before that, it had for almost a year an overhaul at Antwerp airport with Raymond's Aircraft Restoration, departing to Balen-Keiheuvel airport on February 9 2004. On June 20 2017 it went to Keiheuvel Historical Aircraft Team and since April 14 2022 it's current with another private user (M. Saey), still based at Balen-Keiheuvel airport.
