ca. 1971 Location: -/ETBB Photo: collection Skystef Description: this vintage 1953 build Piper (ex USAAF and ex Belgian Air Force "OL-L153") came in the Belgian register on December 31 1969 for Aeroclub F.B.A., established on October 15 1964 and based at Butzweilerhof Air Base (Germany), here seen such at its home base in a livery carrying besides the Club logo also "Mission Anthropologique Belge Au Niger" titles (see also lower left inset) and this mission was held in 1970. It had an accident on July 20 1981 at its home base when on landing lost directional control and was later considered as a write-off. Two months later, on September 29, it was cancelled from the register. Apparently not a total loss, it migrated almost a decade later on March 22 1990 to England as "G-BSGC" for private user Graham Churchill. |
