| 10 | Partly cloudy with at dawn some shallow fog. During the day building TCu/Cb with around 1530, 1600 and 1700 rumbles of thunder. From 1830 on continuous rumbles. Between 2115-2245 the passage of a moderate thunderstorm with downpour, in the begin accompanied by a weak downburst with winds up to 30KT. As much as 38mm fell within 20 minutes, a total of 49 mm was collected after the thunderstorm cleared the area. Top Tmax: Diest 26,4°C. Zaventem had 25,5°C. During early morning a weak thunderstorm reached West-Vlaanderen. During the afternoon development of moderate to severe thunderstorms over all provinces of Belgium with local flooding. Water problems arose at Menen, Wevelgem, Avelgem, Oudenaarde, Geerardsbergen, Brakel, Berlaar, Heist-op-den-Berg, Maasmechelen, Lanklaar, Zelem, Tienen, Diest, Leuven, Machelen, Evere, Sint-Genesius-Rode, Sint-Pieters-Woluwe, La-Roche-en-Ardenne. Officially precipitation recordings of last 24 hours till 0200 on 11th: Bièrset 51 mm, Zaventem 48 mm (later corrected to 39 mm via automatic station values), Ukkel 35 mm. Larger amounts may have fallen, possible up tot 100 mm in a couple of hours. |

This morning a moderate thunderstorms with heavy rain did occur over Ostend, this afternoon a severe thunderstorm developed over north of province Oost-Vlaanderen. Other weak thunderstorms were formed over Brabant, Antwerp and West-Vlaanderen. Top rainfall amount 0200-2000: Ostend 49 mm, Ghent 12 mm. |

The first negative screen temperature of the new "winter season" did occur at Elsenborn: -1,7°C, and in fact the last frost in Belgium did occur at the same station on May 19. Brasschaat came close with 1,6°C, Kleine Brogel had 1,8°C. Negative grass minima were observed at Chièvres & St-Hubert with -1°C. Kleine Brogel, Spa & Florennes had 0°C.
