Description: the first DC-6 for Delta Air Transport arrived at Antwerp on December 19 1971 as OO-PAY of BIAS (being also ex OO-HEX). This airframe was re-registerd the same day to "OO-FVG", its regi referring to DAT's managing director Freddy Van Gaever, and did wear the livery of BIAS, here depicted such with "Delta Air Transport" titles added.

Description: bit later a slight adjustment was done in the color scheme as seen here and it was put such into commercial service on December 24 1971.

Description: early 1972, the tail logo was added. Later also a logo was added below the cockpit representing "Gazet Van Antwerpen" which is a well known Belgian newspaper based in Antwerp (see pictures below).

Description: on April 6 1972 the airframe, chartered by "British Air Ferries" for a flight Ostend - Southend, encountered a nose wheel collapse as the crew by mistake retracted the gear too soon. Luckely no injuries among the pax and crew on board and is here seen in its embarrassing position at Ostend.

Description: in provisional repair by Braathens SAFE technicians as the airframe was later ferried to SVG for permanent repairs.

Description: when it returned to Antwerp the livery was slightly adjusted with a straightened cheatline on the nose and also a different logo below the cockpit representing "Antwerp Chamber". For a detail of this logo see OO-VGF, being re-registered such on July 17 1973 to avoid confusion with ATC conversations as other aircraft of DAT did carry also a regi ending with the letters "VG".
