OO-YAN

 

Piper PA.12 Super Cruiser (12-2174)

Description: this factory fresh Piper came on May 23 1947 in the register as "OO-SCF" for Cogea (which stood for Compagnie Générale d'Exploitation Aéronautique), established on January 14 1946 and based at Keerbergen airfield. On October 10 1947 it was cancelled from the register and on the same day registered as "OO-YAN" to a private user (O. Dierickx) basing it at Knokke-Zoute airfield. On May 26 1954 it moved on to Aero Para Club de Spa which was established in 1908. On July 29 1964 it went to Farner Air Service, established on February 21 1962 and based at Wevelgem airport. On June 1 1967 it went to Publi-Sky, officially established on January 1 1968 which was an Antwerp based company for bannertowing, here seen in a livery without titles.

Description: here seen with their titles and coördinates on the fuselage (see also upper left inset). On May 17 1976 it went to a private user (D. Cabooter), basing it at Brasschaat airfield but shortly afterwards on January 15 1977 it was damaged beyond repair on landing at Hoevenen airfield, luckely without casualties and the airframe was four days later cancelled from the register.
