Description: this factory fresh Partenavia was registered to Travair on December 4 1981 but it was already delivered at Antwerp airport on November 29, here seen without titles with a tiny logo of the aircraft type in the tail. As Travair, established on February 20 1967 as taxi operator, became from January 1 1981 onwards the official dealer for Africa of this Italian aircraft type, this particular airframe passed only via Antwerp airport for the paperwork and was resold shortly afterwards in 1982 to Nigeria, later on September 24 1983 officially being cancelled from the register and becoming in 1984 "5N-ATE" for Astro Surveys Ltd. After in 1994 changing hands to Network Aviation Services (Nigeria), also used for aerial services, it had on June 16 2001 a fatal crash into a tree while attempting a forced landing on a field at the Zummuratul Islammiyyah Grammar School in the Lagos suburb of Igbogbo (Nigeria) after turning back following failure of one engine on flight to Calabar killing one of two on board. A crash report can be found here.
