05/1981 Location: ANR/EBAW Photo: collection Skystef Description: this 1959 build Tipsy (constructed by Avions Fairey SA at Charleroi airport) was on August 28 1959 registered as "OO-LYS" to Golden River Aviation Club, established on June 16 1936 and based at Wevelgem airport. On March 10 1966 it went to B.S.D. Aeroclub F.B.A., established on October 15 1964 and based at Butzweilerhof Air Base (Germany). On September 15 1967 it moved on to a private user (P. Schuddinck) basing it at Brasschaat airfield. On November 18 1979 it flew to Hoevenen airfield after been sold to another private user (H. Clissen) being re-registered to him as "OO-VAG" the following month on December 6. On April 12 1981 it flew to Antwerp airport after been sold to Dan-Aviation which was established on May 8 1980. It was registered to them on April 15 1981, here seen such at its home base in their livery with only the letter "T" in the tail (of Transmarcom-air). |

05/1983 Location: ANR/EBAW Photo: collection Skystef Description: since October 12 1982 it was stored at Antwerp airport and came only outside for static display's like in this case whereby the color scheme was changed. On February 24 1985 it was sold (but not registered) to a private user (M. Raymackers), a couple weeks later on March 5 registered to another private user (E. Hurxkens) basing it at Zwartberg airfield. Later that year on December 5 it went to another private user (J. Van den Plas) basing it at Balen-Keiheuvel airport. In 1988 it was sold to R. Cuypers for restoration and later that year on September 14 to a private user (P. Delhamende) basing it at Charleroi airport where it arrived the following month on October 2. Later it was put in storage there and cancelled from the register on January 18 1993. On February 4 1993 it was sold to four private owners (P. Verbiest, J. Mangelschots, J. De Block and I. Giegas). A month later on March 5 it was transported by R. Cuypers via road to Balen-Keiheuvel airport where it was stripped and stored (awaiting restoration). On April 5 1994 it was sold to a private owner (L. Van Dormael) and the same day transported to Kiewit airfield for restoration which at the end didn't materialise. In 1998 it was again sold to R. Cuypers (for future restoration) and on January 17 1999 transported to Balen-Keiheuvel airport for further storage. On June 6 1999 it was transported to Millegem (Belgium) and later to Grimbergen airfield where it was finally restorated by R. Cuypers. It came back in the register on June 11 1999 and after the restoration was completed it arrived at Balen-Keiheuvel on October 1 2000, a month later on November 21 officially registered to J. Mangelschots and R. Cuypers. Since August 2002 it was for sale and after been sold to Scotland it was on January 24 2004 dismantled and a day later transported to its new owner at Perth (Scotland). It was cancelled from the register on April 7 2004 and.became the same day "G-OVAG" belonging to Laurence David Johnston. |
