Rockwell Commander 114 (14409)

Description: this factory fresh Rockwell was on September 28 1979 registered to Travair, established on February 20 1967 as taxi operator at Antwerp airport. The aircraft itself arrived a year earlier (July 31 1978) as "N5864N" at its home base, here seen such after been re-registered in a livery without titles. On April 23 1981 it migrated to Pradim, established on March 28 1970 and basing the aircraft at Antwerp airport. The color scheme was slightly updated in January 1992 when the registration became red. On February 25 1992 it made a belly landing at Antwerp airport but was repaired afterwards. On June 23 1999 it went to a private user (L. Dams), same airport. On September 3 2004 it was damaged beyond repair when due to fuel starvation it emergency landed on a paved trail of a model aircraft club at Saint-Georges-sur-l'Aa (France) and ended up in a ditch. Luckely no one of the two on board was fatal injured. On February 1 2005 it was cancelled from the register and the wreckage was later used for spares at Antwerp airport.
