08/1967 Location: -/EBGB Photo: collection Skystef Description: this factory fresh Cessna was on March 10 1958 registered to Sabena but arrived at Brussels Airport ten days earlier on March 1. It was used by Ecole d’Aviation Civile / Burgerlijke Luchtvaartschool (founded in 1952) and based at Grimbergen airfield providing training for future Sabena pilots, here seen such in its first livery without titles. |

06/1986 Location: BRU/EBBR Photo: collection Skystef Description: from April 1981 onwards it was laid up at Brussels Airport, here seen such five years later. On January 27 1988 it was cancelled from the register and was handed over to the Sabena Oldtimers for possible restoration into flying status but this never materialized. Instead it was used as instructional airframe by the "Vlaams luchtvaartopleidingscentrum" (VLOC) based at Ostend airport on March 2 1995. In September 2018 it was stored outside after it had done its job for the students and on January 21 2021 it arrived at Namur airport to be preserved by the Belgian Aviation Preservation Association (BAPA) in Sabena colors. |
