07/1973 Location: BRU/EBBR Photo: collection Skystef Description: this factory fresh Cessna was on February 14 1958 registered to Sabena but arrived at Brussels Airport a few weeks earlier on February 1. It was used by Ecole d’Aviation Civile / Burgerlijke Luchtvaartschool (founded in 1952) and based at Grimbergen airfield providing training for future Sabena pilots. However from August 8 1960 it was also used by Air Congo and a few weeks later on August 27 by Air Katanga till October 21 1961. Here it's depicted in the first livery when back in Belgium. |

02/1981 Location: BRU/EBBR Photo: collection Skystef Description: seen in the second livery with in the back a "big Orange" Jumbo of Braniff International which had a low fare pax schedule between Brussels Airport and the States between June 1 1979 and February 16 1981. The Belgian airframes CofA did expire on November 5 1981 and was for a handfull years laid up at Brussels Airport. It was cancelled from the register on March 14 1985 and left Brussels Airport on a month later on April 27 as "N626GS". |
