04/05/1989 Location: Kampenhout (Belgium) Photo: collection Skystef Description: on May 4 1989, when on a photo mission, it ran out of fuel and was damaged on an emergency landing in a cornfield at Berg Lelle (Kampenhout) near Brussels Airport, luckely without casualties of the two people on board. It was never repaired and remained laid up inside a hangar at Brussels Airport, later in 1990 it was donated to the Brussels Air Museum whereby due to lack of space over there at first stored at Weelde Air Base, afterwards Koksijde Air Base. Between 1995-2007 it was on loan to V.T.I. (a technical school in Ostend) and used as instructional airframe. Meanwhile it was cancelled from the register, namely on December 18 2003. From 2007 on it was again stored at a military depot in Vissenaken (Belgium), also part of the Brussels Air Museum, since 2017 stored at a military depot in Landen (Belgium). |
