16/08/1980 Location: -/EBDT Photo: collection Skystef Description: this vintage 1944 build Piper (ex USAAF & ex "OO-AVP") was on September 8 1948 registered to Cogea, established on January 14 1946 as Compagnie Générale d'Exploitation Aéronautique (shortened to Cogea) and based at Keerbergen airfield. After a reorganistation on November 30 1954 its name changed to Cogea Nouvelle switching its base to Ostend airport. On June 26 1969 it went to Royal Motor Union Aviation based at Liège airport. On January 30 1969 Publi-Air was the next owner basing the airframe at Grimbergen airfield, but a few days later on February 6 it migrated to a private user (W. Declercq), same airfield. On March 9 1970 it moved on to a another private user (J. Van Der Heyden) basing the Piper at Diest airfield. Its final operator became on March 9 1978 Aéroclub des Rièzes et des Sarts, established on January 10 1974 and also based at Diest airfield, here depicted such in a livery without titles. Its CofA did expire on June 1 1996 being stored for decades at Charleroi airport and was cancelled from the register on August 29 2019. |
