04/1980 Location: GNK/EBZW Photo: collection Skystef Description: this vintage 1944 build Piper (ex USAAF) came in the Belgian register on July 8 1947 for Cogea, established on January 14 1946 as Compagnie Générale d'Exploitation Aéronautique (shortened to Cogea) and based at Keerbergen airfield. After a reorganistation on November 30 1954 its name changed to Cogea Nouvelle.switching its base to Ostend airport. On September 29 1961 it went to Groupement Aéronautique Namurois based at Namur airport and on March 15 1967 to a private user (G. Bertrand), being the founder of Publi-Air in 1959, basing the airframe at the same airport. On September 25 1968 it migrated to Limburgse Vleugels, established on July 5 1957 and based at Zwartberg airfield, here seen such at its home base in a livery without titles. On June 19 1985 it was cancelled from the register migrating a few weeks later on July 3 to England as "G-AHIP" for a private user Roy Edmund Nerou. |
