11/1964 Location: -/FZIA Photo: collection Christian Ueten Description: when chartered to the government of Kinshasa evacuating refugees and military staff, it was lost at Stanleyville (Belgian Congo) on November 29 1964. Apparently during take-off it hit some fuel barrels which were left on the runway, consequently its nosewheel collapsed, the aircraft veered of the runway and caught fire. Seven out of 15 occupants were killed of which the entire three strong Belgian crew. |
