1978 Location: -/EBGB Photo: collection Skystef Description: this factory fresh Cessna (build by Reims) was on January 6 1978 registered to Abelag Aviation, established in 1964 and basing this airframe at Grimbergen airfield airfield and it arrived at Brussels Airport a few weeks later on January 25 1978, here seen captured in a blue livery without titles. Later in 1978 it changed hands to International Sales Company, established on February 28 1975 (which became on March 19 1980 Belgian Printing Services), also based in Grimbergen airfield. In 1979 it migrated to Piper dealer New European Air Services (NEAS) based at Brussels Airport and later that year to a private owner (M. Meuleman) which based it at Moorsele airfield. On January 26 1984 its final Belgian operator became Abatros Air Academy, established on July 24 1980 and again based at Grimbergen airfield. Slow activities resulted that the airframe was stored for a while at Amougies airfield during the early nineties and after Abatros demise on September 8 1995, it was on May 23 1996 cancelled to Germany as "D-ESFD". |
