late 60's Location: -/EBGB Photo: collection Skystef Description: this vintage 1944 build Piper (ex USAAF) came in the Belgian register as "OO-LIL" on February 12 1948 for a private owner (L. Jansen) which based its aircraft at Grimbergen airfield. On November 10 1958 it migrated to Christiane Devleminck as "OO-AED" and this on behalf of Devleminck Air Services (DAS), established in 1953 which was a flight school, also based at Grimbergen airfield. Here it's seen at its home base with, besides "DAS" titles on the fuselage, small "Ecole Devleminck" titles in the tail (see also upper left inset). |
