Brussels Airport is slowly recovering after the
collapse of several home carriers like CityBird, Soberlair and mainly Sabena
around the Millennium. At its height in 2000, the main airport of Belgium
received more than 21 million pax, the years after it dropped by 7 million, but
since 2005 a slow growth is taking place with last year 17 million pax. Just like the road traffic, two flight peaks occur: between 0700-0900 local time many landings, couple of hours afterwards taking-off again and repeated between 1630-2000 local time. What would it give when a cam with a fixed view captures the outbound flights during a couple of hours? An example is shown in this image taken on a random but cloud free day in March which is composition of 24 planes taking off (some were omitted due to overlapping). No surprise wide bodies have the longest take-off run with the cargo Boeing 747 of Saudia being the heaviest. The spotter can always try to seek which companies & types are shown in the images. No prize contest but anyhow good luck and have some fun.
