Base: Ostend
IATA: *
ICAO: HZ
Fleet: 1x DC-6 (OO-CTK) + 2x leased from Frachtflug Iceland (TF-OAA, TF-OAD), 3x DC8 (OO-AMI, OO-CMB, OO-TCP)
History: was formed by Charles Pommé on March 1 1970. Founder of a handling company called "Inair", Aubin Vanbelleghem, joined this venture. After delivery of an ex Sabena DC6, operations began on March 1 1970 with a charter flight from Ostend to Jersey. Due to the existence of a road truck transporter in Belgium under the same name they were forced to rename to Pomair, adopted on May 3 1971. Also in 1971, two additional DC6 were leased to perform some cargo flights, but from summer 1973 onwards, it became an all jet operator. Core business was beside world wide pax charters from Ostend, IT charters on behalf of Belgian tour operator Jetair from Ostend and Brussels and wet leasing their aircraft to third parties like Air France, JAT, Nigeria Airways, Sudan Airways, Air Inter, Air Ceylon (now SriLankan Airlines) and defunct carriers like UTA, Air Inter, British Caledonian and East African Airways. Financial troubles led to the cease of all activities on October 13 1974 and they were declared bankrupt four days later.
